Breaking New Ground

We have spent the week in two very deprived slums.
Initially women were  reluctant to come, but by the end of the week we had fifteen mothers in each area.  The morning group were really responsive, massaging and playing with their babies with obvious enjoyment.  They have decided to continue to meet to encourage each other, and to teach other women.  In the afternoon a Grandmother stood up and said that she had learned many things she did not know before.  (Grandmothers are a source of nylanda group in circlewisdom within their communities.)  The afternoon group are also planning to meet together.  At the end of the session we had an impromptu singing and dancing session together to celebrate!  We hope to return in the Autumn to consolidate the work in these communities.
